Old Man of the Woods

Old man of the woods is a mushroom, also known as Strobilomyces floccopus or Strobilomyces strobilaceaus.
The first time I saw this mushroom I immediately imagined this guy sipping whiskey on a rickety old porch looking out at the trees. Simple and content in his solitude.
This has been one illustration that I can confidently say I enjoyed creating the most. The original is still hanging out in my own home, and i’m not sure I will be able to part ways with this old man anytime soon.
